Tuesday Tune

I believe everyone knows how they were intro'd to music. Two people played a big role in my life for the music I now consider "what I grew up listening to". My mom and my cousin Richard. My mom and her four other older sisters grew up in the 50s, 60s, and 70s. So with no question, whenever there was music around the house, it was coming from old 45 or 33 vinyl records from our huge ass record player. And just the same, Richard was the one to intro me newer, modern, popular music of the 90s. I remember artists like Cyndi Lauper, Paula Abdul, Michael Jackson, and of course... MADONNA. The majority was Madonna. I remember his room being FILLED, I mean FILLED, from wall to wall to ceiling of Madonna memorabilia. What can I say, he was a devoted fan to say the least. And easily and willingly, I became one too and have been ever since. I've been wanting to see her in concert but haven't found anyone who would go with me yet. And I can't go with my cousin cuz he pays like hundreds of dollars on tickets.!Hopefully I can for her next tour. You never know when it's going to be her last.

Richard would always let me know when her new albums were going to come out. And call me over to listen to the new mixes he found. I could hear him bumping down the street! To this day it hasn't stopped. Today he let me in on the buzz of Madonna's release of her new video for her new single "Celebration". It was free today on itunes, and I downloaded it. And I LOVE IT! I wanna bump it!... and this is my TUESDAY TUNE!

The actual video is not avail yet on YouTube but here is the song....

  1. Madonna was part of my introduction to music. The very FIRST music video that I saw was ''Material Girl'' and that whole image of her in that video was engraved in my soul. The tune would forever haunt me and cause me to hum it whenever it decided to pop up. Later, when I got older, I realized who she was...what she was saying. Then MUCH later, I realized she was winking at Marilyn Monroe with that video.
i remember i was very young, im guessing that video was premiering on Mtv. I was sitting on the living room rug at my Babysitters house staring up at the tv. It was amazing, what that piece of music opened inside me.
