First Tattoo

I'm so excited!! =) I got my first tattoo!! So like I mentioned before, I had been thinking about getting one very soon. I was debating from the star on my wrist and a star on the back of my neck. And I finally made a decision. I went with the star on the back of my neck. I figured I didn't want my first tattoo to be so noticeable. I wanted something that I could hide and show. So I was originally going to go with a red star, but red is just not my color. Pink is more me. Red is more my cousin. This is MY tattoo. So I gave it a lil bit of a Vane flare. Hehe =) And I loooooove it! It's tight!

People always ask, "Did it hurt?"... and you know what, no it didn't really. So not as much as I thought it might. It was more of a burning/stinging feeling than actual pain. And I definately thought it was going to hurt more it being the back of my neck. I've heard it's a difficult spot. But I took it like a champ. Lol Those who have seen it so far tell me it's cool. So I'm happy. Even if they didn't, I'm still happy. Lol

Here are some pics.

Mi Libro de Lunes (My Monday Book)

I've taken up reading lately. A habit I had been wanting to get more dedicated to for some time now. I've impressed myself with the amount of books I've read in the amount of time I started this adventure. Haha I've read more books in about a year than I have my entire life. Aside from having to from school. And I'm really into it. I enjoy it. I've always enjoyed reading, but never really knew what to start reading. I didn't know what kind of books I'd like. From the thousands and thousands of books in libraries and book stores, how would one choose? That was my biggest dilemma. Luckily I have a friend who has a decent book collection that I have started to bum off. I've even bought two books of my own! Watcha! Lol. I figure once I finish all the books she recommends me to read, and all the ones I want to read from my her collection, I shall start my own and add to my 2 book collection. Lol

So for my Libro de Lunes, I am currently reading... City of Thieves. I'm just a few chapters into it, but its already sucked me in. =)

Early Saturday Morning

It's 5:30 early Saturday morning and I can't fall back asleep. I close my eyes. I toss and and I turn. Nothing. Even tho my curtains and blinds were closed, so much light was coming in. I figured I might as well just get up. I had no reason to, but I did. At 6:50am I opened the blinds a tad, and this was my view. Beautiful I think. Good Morning to you too Day.

Tattoo

I'm contemplating getting a tattoo. I've been thinking about it for a while now. Several ideas have been bouncing around in my head. I've been holding off for a while now. Besides money holding me back, I just want to make sure they're right. I don't want to get it done and then later think of something else I coulda done differently. Or added. So I think I've decided to start simple. I'm thinking of a little star on my wrist. But not sure which. Left or Right? I almost got one yesterday. On a whim with a friend. I doodled them on my wrists to see if I think I could rock it. I'm really feeling em. I really want one. I'm also suppose to get a red star on the back of my neck. A "bonding tattoo" between me and my cousin. She's got one too. Maybe I'll get that first. Who knows. Still debating. Anyone feel free to drop their advice.

Watermelons!!! Mmmmmm.

Watermelons are my favorite fruit. Anyone who knows me probably knows that I looove watermelon. I could kill a whole one by myself. (But not in one sitting) So I'm cruising our local farmer's market one Saturday when something catches my eye. A YELLOW WATERMELON! I'm not talking about yellow on the outside. No not a honey dew. It was a normal watermelon. Green on the outside, and YELLOW in the inside. I've never seen one before. I was shocked! I've seen different sizes and different shades of colors; ruby red, faded red, pink, light pink, but that's due to ripeness and where they're grown. But yellow?! Am I the only one in shock? Apparently not. People were gathering around just as curious as I was. I asked to tasted it. It was delicious! Taste like watermelon. Lol I guess with the color difference I was expecting more of a tangy taste. Nope. It was just as sweet and juicy and crisp as a red seedless watermelon.

So I started researching and I found there were over 1200 varieties of watermelon. Now that's not so much of a shocker. I completely understand from different global environments and with cross pollination, there'd be numerous. But 1200? Wow! Impressive. Among the most common varieties there are: Carolina Cross (most common known. Typical looking watermelon), Yellow Crimson Watermelon, (shown above) Orangeglo, The Moon and Stars, Cream of Seskatchewan, Melitopolski, and Densuke Watermelon.

Orangeglo: Pretty self explanatory. Orange inside.

The Moon and Stars:
Get their name from their outer appearance. You can see why. Red inside. Sometimes a hint of purple shade.

Cream of Sasketchewan: White inside.

Melitopolski: Popular in Moscow and Japan. Red inside.

Densuke Watermelon: Japan grown. Dark Green/Black outside. Red inside.

The Japanese are a clever bunch. Ever seen a SQUARE or TRIANGLE watermelon? No. Interesting right? The squared watermelon is not a genetically modified watermelon. As it turns out, the watermelons are placed into squared tempered glass cases while the fruit is still growing on the vine. What will they think of next? LOL. (same goes for the triangle watermelon)

SOFTball? PSSSHH!!!

My 2nd game was yesterday. SO much fun. The nerves are starting to dwindle. I'm getting used to being out there and having and audience. I get the jitters when I first step onto the field, but then after I get some action, they pretty much go away and the adrenaline starts pumping. So last week was our 1st placement game and we didn't win. Yesterday was our 2nd placement game and WE WON! Ah woo woo! It was a really good game. By the 2nd inning they were scoring left and right. We had to do major catching up. But we pulled it off. You know the line... "Don't call it a come back...cuz I've been here for years" LOL. Seems the girls were the MVPS of the night. On 2 different innings, with 2 outs, it was us girls that started rollin' in the RBI's. I think we're going to be getting shirts soon. But in the meantime I'm rockin' a throw back jersey from my summer travel ball team, with my #1 on the back, from when I was playing w my girls from high school.

So I still wanna try and get some more pics of the games. But soon. But I'm here to prove there ain't no SOFT in Softball. PSSSHHH!! Look at this shiner! And I'm proud of it! I took it like a champ! lol Most people would look at this and say, "Ok you know you're suppose to catch the ball with the glove right? Not your arm." But that wasn't the case. The story goes, I was on 3rd base and I took a lead. Our next hitter up to bat hit a one bouncer straight to me. I had like zero time to move out of the way. So naturally all I could do was try to catch it or stop it. Somehow I stopped it with my arm. lol I sorta lost my balance and fell over. But it was all good. Our batter Chris, ended up bringing in a few RBI's so it was worth it.

We have another game 2mrw night. We'll see what sort of injuries I get then. BRING IT!

Tuesday Tune

BLACK AND GOLD

I was watching a movie couple weeks ago, and the opening song got my foot moving. Right away I got on my phone and start researching. It actually took me a good minute to find it. But I finally did. It's called BLACK AND GOLD by Sam Sparro. Him himself is an odd character in the music video. But I looked him up and I'm feeling him. I want to DL his album and I think i'm going to after this. His genre is kinda like Funk-Electro-Pop and this is my TUESDAY TUNE.

His video is unavial to post here but when I get a chance I'll try.

MY FIRST GAME!!!

AH WOO WOO!!! MY FIRST GAME!!! I had soooo much fun. I did pretty good. I got on base. I made some outs. I scored a run. I didn't make any mistakes. What more could I ask for right?? I have nothing to complain about. We ultimately lost tho, but I didn't care. It was only a placement game anyway. To see which league we're going to be playing in. Haha. Omg I was nervous. But it was a fun nervous. A nervousness I hadn't felt in a while. I missed it. It was awesome! Hopefully I can get some more pics next game. Till next monday..... =)

New Singer (to me)

So I'm a huge fan of Ellen and I haven't been watching for the longest time cuz she's since been on vacation I think. But I caught it this morning and I saw this new singer perform. I'm not a big fan of American Idol either, but this guy is the new season winner. His name is KRIS ALLEN, and I just fell in love with his voice. It's awesome. Kinda soulful. Looove it.

-Here he performs on Ellen. Imma watch out for him.
